Installing the correct Backup and Restore app

Well, I discovered this problem during updating my wife's Sony Ericsson xperia X10 phone, from Android 2.1 to Android 2.3. Do not get confused with the 3.0.x.x numbering! The 3.0.x.x or something like that which appeared in the splash screen upon updating the phone's OS did not mean for the newer Android version. It's just the manufacturer's release code for the update purpose I think.

Sony Ericsson, via its PC Companion, did ask me to backup anything since all data & settings on the phone will be erased & installed with new settings. My SD card won't be affected. Reading guide here might help (for X10 users only).

Android version 2.1 is already came with a Backup and Restore app. Doing backup is easy, if you carefully follow the instruction in the guide.

The problem is, I couldn't install Backup and Restore as mentioned in the guides after finishing the upgrade. So, after googling something, I found this working apk installer for Backup and Restore. It size was slightly bigger, 2.6MB compared to the one mentioned in the guide site, 2.2MB. Both files actually were downloadable, but the smaller one in my case couldn't be installed.

The QR code link can be opened via NeoReader. The download can be done from generic Android browser or downloadable browsers e.g. Opera Mini. The smaller-size installer can only be downloaded from generic Android browser only, but the installation failed.

Alhamdulillah. My installation is successful. The update process is ongoing during the posting of this entry.

Why QR code if you have a browser in you PC?

Yes, since PC / laptop is required to do the OS update, we can browse the link from the PC/laptop. But, the new Backup & Restore must be installed preferably from within your phone. Accessing the site in phone is easier by using QR code provided you have the correct QR code reader.

Hudud: Penjelasan bersama PR yang meyakinkan

Semalam, pucuk pimpinan Pakatan Rakyat bermesyuarat di Pejabat Agung PAS, Jalan Raja Laut, KL. Antara persetujuan yang diperolehi ialah perakuan bersama tentang keabsahan kewujudan Enakmen Jenayah Syariah II Kelantan 1993 dan Enakmen Jenayah Syariah Terengganu 2003 sebelum adanya muafakat dalam Pakatan Rakyat.

Semua komponen PR menghormati hak atas perlembagaan yang dibenarkan dan perbezaan pendirian di antara PAS dan DAP. Kenyataan lanjut boleh diperolehi di sini (walaupun Malaysiakini turut melaporkan hasil mesyuarat semalam, ada sedikit 'kurang sedap' untuk dibaca).

Kita tengok apa reaksi UMNO-BN mengenai kenyataan bersama ini.

Pelaksanaan Hudud bukanlah utopia. Ianya suatu kewajipan yang disuruh ALLAH. Hukum ALLAH yang merangkumi seluruh cabang kehidupan manusia, hudud salah satunya, semestinya perlu dilaksanakan. Menjadi kafir (al-Maidah, ayat 44), zalim (al-Maidah, ayat 45) dan fasiklah (al-Maidah, ayat 47) mereka yang tidak berhukum dengan hukum ALLAH.

Kenapa ya, ada orang yang menentang pelaksanaan hudud ni? Khairy Jamaluddin pun seakan tidak senang dengan penentangan ini, apabila melalui twitternya mencadangkan agar Kerajaan Perseketuan meminda pelembagaan untuk membolehkan pelaksanaan hudud di Kelantan.

Pada tahun 1993 dulu, kerajaan negeri Kelantan telah meluluskan Enakmen Jenayah Syariah II Kelantan yang antaranya mengandungi pelaksanaan hudud dan qisas. Akan tetapi, mereka mendapat amaran dari Kerajaan Persekutuan dengan surat rasmi dari PM ketika itu, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad supaya tidak melaksanakan enakmen berkenaan atau berhadapan dengan tindakan dari kerajaan Pusat.

Kemudian pada tahun 1994, Tun M masih lagi memberi amaran kpd kerajaan negeri Kelantan, dan beberapa usaha kerajaan negeri Kelantan seterusnya tetap mendapat halangan. Ianya diburukkan lagi dengan keadaan umat Islam Malaysia waktu itu yang masih takut-takut dengan hudud dan pelaksanaannya disebabkan angkara UMNO. Bertambah teruk lagi keadaan non-muslim. Alasan UMNO ketika itu, hudud yang bakal dilaksanakan ialah hudud PAS, bukan hudud Islam, tanpa UMNO atau ulama-ulama UMNO memberikan sebarang definisi hudud Islam yang boleh mereka terima walaupun telah dipersoal oleh wakil-wakil PAS.

Pada tahun 2003 pula, kerajaan negeri Terengganu telah meluluskan Enakmen Jenayah Syariah Terengganu. Majlis Fatwa Terengganu juga telah mengeluarkan fatwa bahawa Enakmen Jenayah Syariah Terengganu adalah selaras dengan Syara'. Tetapi sekali lagi, pelaksanaan ini mendapat halangan dari kerajaan Pusat UMNO, atas alasan hukum hudud bercanggah dengan Undang-Undang Jenayah Perseketuan. Manchester disarrays?

What happened to Manchester City last night, a 0-2 defeat, angry Edin Dzeko & Carlos Tevez refusal and a not-so-convincing draw for Man Utd sent both Manchester giants a clear signal. They must improve or they will be ousted from the UCL.

United, hampered with injuries, scored a second successive draw in all competitions. The hardly-fought draw against Swiss club FC Basel signaled a lack of attacking power, defending stability and lacking of creativity. The usual second string squad proved useless as they needed first team's regular Ashley Young's goal to save them from the brink of first home defeat in 17 months. Playing at home did not give them much advantages last night too. The consistency was expected after leading 2-0 but they gave their opponent a good motivation by leading them 3-2 before Young's saver.

Man City defeat ended their unbeaten starts so far in UCL & BPL collectively. Worse thing is Roberto Mancini's resentment due to rejection of Tevez to be called up as a sub in the second half, prompting heated arguments on their team's bench. What else did Tevez want, nobody knows. Plus Dzeko shaking his head after being substituted displayed a negative aspect of him. He, according to his boss, played badly. Most of the players called up against Bayern Munich last night were first team regulars, yet it did not help them.

Man Utd is a great club. Man City, with the huge investment, is going-to-be great a club. They need consistency, defensive efficacy, player togetherness & unity (for City). Since UCL group stage has another 4 games, they still have time to overcome their problem, be mentally tough and advance into the next round.

2. kalau select placeholder & paste - paste special - paste link, akan jadi excl table yg link dengan source asal
3. kalau select placeholder & paste - paste special - paste SAJA, akan jadi excl table yg TAK ADA LINK dengan source asal

Cara lain, boleh Insert - Object - create from file - browse file excel berkenaan.

Chart Tools boleh guna Edit Data atau Select Data. Select Data digunakan kalau table tak adjacent. Tak perlu tarik2 handle biru.

Quick Layout dalam Design: nak ubah layout chart dengan cepat

View - Slide Master - nak edit slide master. Boleh add multiple slide masters

insert - hyperlink - bookmark - guna ni kalau nak ke slides di dalam file yg sama

To edit .pps / .ppsx : Right click onto the file's icon, select new or open from within PowerPoint

Jump to whichever during slides show... tekan no. & Enter. akan ke slide berkenaan w/pun slides tu hidden

simultaneous slide show. extend dulu secondary display (melalui display properties) then dlm PowerPoint, tekan Fn key

Pasca 1 Syawal 1432H

1 Syawal sudah lama berlalu. Sudah terlambat untuk aku mengucapkan Salam 'Idulfitri. Maaf zahir dan batin, semoga sepanjang tahun kita berada di dalam kebaikan dan rahmat ALLAH.

Banyak perkara yang berlaku sepanjang blog ni senyap tak terkemaskini.

Well, ada seorang kawan yang aku terputus hubungan sudah aku jumpai dalam laman muka bukunya. Alhamdulillah. Akan kusapanya bila permohonan itu diluluskan.

Sekarang sibuk berbicara tentang sejarah Malaysia. Nampaknya perlu penjernihan dan pelepasan dari konsep "sejarah ditulis oleh pihak yang menang".
